Lewis Carroll - «Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland»

Lewis Carroll - «Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland»

Classical English Literature

Reader’s level – Intermediate

This story is about one girl who didn’t want to refuse her dreams. The Wonderland world was created by her imaginary, with the help of her senses, feelings, knowledge. Presented as a fairy-tale this book can’t be considered just like this, cause every adult reader will find something new and awesome about his life and his dreams. This story teaches us not to judge people for their weird dreams, and accept this world as it is, where every thought is unique and wonderful. This book’s main theme is that all people are different and it is the main wonder of the Universe.

Classical English Literature

Reader’s level – Intermediate

“Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There” is a work of literature by Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson). It is the sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The themes and settings of Through the Looking-Glass make it a kind of mirror image of Wonderland: the first book begins outdoors, in the warm month of May and draws on the imagery of playing cards; the second opens indoors on a snowy, wintry night exactly six months later, on 4 November and draws on the imagery of chess. In it, there are many mirror themes, including opposites, time running backwards, and so on. We can’t say that this book is suitable for children. So we can advise you to read it with rather good level of your English, with great imaginary and being adult.
